PULSE-CF Innovation Hub
Precision in Understanding and Preventing
Exacerbations in Cystic Fibrosis
About the Hub
PULSE-CF is a major new research collaboration between four UK Universities and five NHS Trusts, focussed on the burden of exacerbations, or “flare-ups”, for people living with Cystic Fibrosis (CF).
The hub brings together research expertise from across clinical medicine, the biological sciences and bioinformatics to answer key questions regarding how and why exacerbations occur, and how best to prevent and treat them in different individuals (see video).
PULSE-CF is one of four innovation hubs co-funded by the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and LifeArc to undertake 5-year translational research programmes, beginning in early 2025. A video introduction to the initiative and all four hubs in the network can also be found here.
