    Prof Horsley is a consultant in Adult Cystic Fibrosis in Manchester, and Professor of Respiratory Medicine at the University of Manchester. He has been involved in CF research and clinical care for over 20 years and is a leader in CF clinical trials as well as leading research into the progression of lung disease, imaging and infections in CF.

    Prof Tunney is a Chair in Clinical Pharmacy at the School of Pharmacy, Queen’s University Belfast. He has an international track record in lung microbiome research with his translational research programme focusing primarily on the improved detection and treatment of lung infection in patients with respiratory diseases such as cystic fibrosis (CF), bronchiectasis and COPD.

    Dr Rosemary Maher

    Dr Maher has extensive experience in using mass spectrometry-based proteomics to investigate cystic fibrosis-related respiratory disease. Currently a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Liverpool's Centre for Proteome Research, her recent work has focused on exploring the effects of elexacaftor–tezacaftor–ivacaftor (ETI) on the sputum and plasma proteome, with a particular emphasis on the systemic inflammatory response.”

  • Prof Andrew Jones

    Prof Jones is the Director of the Manchester Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre and has over 150 published papers in CF clinical research. He holds, and has previous held, roles on national and international committees responsible for clinical guidelines and standards across CF and respiratory medicine, including co-chairing the UK Cystic Fibrosis Trust Standards of Care and Infection Control Groups. He also has active roles in medical education, including work for the Royal College of Physicians.

    Laura Beattie

    PATIENT LEAD

    Laura Beattie is a business owner and Churchill Fellow (2023) with Cystic Fibrosis, receiving care at the Manchester Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre (MACFC). An active participant in research projects since joining MACFC, she also holds various volunteer and ambassadorial roles, including with the CF Trust. Laura is the Patient Lead, a member of the Hub Steering Group, and the Chair of the Hub's Patient Advisory Group.
